CAR BOOT SALE
(Chairman Doug Malley) The April CBS was another successful day. While the skies showed only a hint of possible rain it had an effect on some of our regular sellers who stayed away. However they were replaced by unexpected first time sellers who had not booked in.We had 59 cars selling and the BBQ was the busiest ever. CAR BOOT SALE NEW PLANSPresident Doug Malley presented a list of Car Boot Sale matters to the club at the April Board meeting. The manning of the many duties was discussed. A detailed list of procedures which was already being produced is nearing completion. It will be issued to all those involved in the project and updated as changes are made. ____________________________________________________________________________ Lion JOHN SNEYD Lion John Sneyd advised us last December that he will be leaving Lions at the end of June 2008. The reason John is leaving is to enable him to take a break from the work he has performed so excellently for our club over many years. We all know John has always treated every single task in the club as one that needs total perfection. All of us would prefer him to stay in the club. But we must be realistic. John needs to consider his own health and that of Lions Lady Carolyn. For some months Carolyn has not been well. Thankfully, with treatment she is now recovering. Not being one who could remain in the club and stay in the background John has chosen a course that is correct and understandable. Family matters must always come first. John will not be leaving until June 30.___________________________________________________________________________ LION JOHN TURNER A shock to our club is that Lion John Turner has been ordered by his doctor to stop all work related activity immediately, included Lions Club tasks. Not being one to talk about his health many of us were surprised and concerned to hear this news.Lions Lady Pat, who has not been well herself, would probably like to see John not so involved in such a very large amount of Lions phone calls and decisions.John has the full support of the club and we would welcome him back at any time in the future.
